Illegal convicted of murdering Maryland mother Rachel Morin

A jury took less than an hour to convict an illegal alien from El Salvador of the brutal rape and murder of Maryland mother of five Rachel Morin.

Victor Martinez-Hernandez, 24, faces up to life in prison for killing Morin on the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail in Maryland.

The jury deliberated for less than an hour Monday afternoon before delivering their verdict. Martinez-Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder, first-degree rape, first-degree sexual offense and kidnapping.

The vicious attack occurred while Morin, 37, was walking along a trail about 30 miles northeast of Baltimore in August 2023. She has five young children, ages 8 to 19, and two daughters testified at the trial.

In an exclusive interview, Moran’s mother, Patty Morin, appeared on FOX’s Hannity Tuesday night and said no one from the administration of Joe Biden has contacted her since her daughter’s brutal murder.

“First, you have to understand, and I think the American people don’t understand the gruesome brutality of the crime,” Patty Morin told Hannity.

Morin’s mother said the details of the murder were so gruesome it was hard for the family to sit and listen during the trail. They showed over 500 pieces of evidence and “very, very” graphic crime scene photos and autopsy photos.

“She had a 6-inch square in the back of her head where the skull was shattered the way that you would crush an eggshell,” Morin said. “Her face was bashed in. She had literally bruises, contusions, scrapes all over her body.”

The grieving mother spared no words against the Biden administration.

“These are the kind of people that the Biden-Harris administration has allowed into our country,” Patty Morin said. “And they think that it’s okay to defend them instead of defending my daughter and protecting us. I don’t understand that.”

The Morin family also never heard from Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen, and Patty Morin said no one from the Democratic party, including Maryland’s two senators, helped search for the murderer.

Martinez-Hernandez was captured in Tulsa, Okla., in June 2024 following a nationwide manhunt, and his trial began earlier this month. He had been living illegally in the U.S. since February 2023, police said.

Meanwhile, Van Hollen, a Democrat, is now headed to El Salvador to press for the release of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran immigrant and MS-13 gang member deported by the Trump administration.

“Actually, I am very angry,” Patty Morin told Hannity. “I’m actually outraged. But I am too sad at the moment to show anger at the same time. He did not call our family. He did not give condolences. There was no action on the Democratic party in any way.”

President Donald Trump did call Morin several times and brought Morin’s murder up during his presidential campaign. Trump praised the verdict while blaming Joe Biden for allowing this criminal alien into the country in the first place.

“We will never forget Rachel Morin, and are committed to protecting women like her across our Country,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “We will deport Illegal Murderers, Rapists, and Criminals. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Harford County (Maryland) Sheriff Jeff Gahler observed, “The failure here, again, is the immigration system that allowed this person to enter our country illegally and remain in our country and commit crimes in Los Angeles and then here in Harford County.”

DNA recovered from Morin’s body matched up with Martinez-Hernandez, making the case “airtight,” according to Harford County State Attorney Alison Healey in this
