Oriol Nathan Tchatchou Fokam/Cameroon/Assault
ICE Baltimore arrested Oriol Nathan Tchatchou Fokam, an 18-year-old citizen of Cameroon. Tchatchou Fokam’s criminal history includes convictions for assault in the first degree and dangerous weapon concealment-loaded gun in Montgomery County, MD.
Similar to Fokam, on April 12, 2025, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Baltimore arrested 32-year-old Guatemalan national Rene Pop-Chub in Hyattsville, Maryland. Pop-Chub had been arrested by local police in Prince George’s County and charged with multiple violent offenses, including second-degree murder, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
His criminal history also included previous removals from the United States in 2013 and 2017. Despite this, the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections released Pop-Chub on April 8, 2025, without notifying ICE, even though a detainer had been lodged.
Following his release, ICE officers located and arrested him during a targeted enforcement operation. Records show that Pop-Chub had entered the United States unlawfully and had no current legal status. Due to his prior removals, ICE reinstated his previous order of removal and placed him in detention. He is currently in ICE custody pending further legal proceedings.
At the time of his arrest, Pop-Chub had no pending immigration relief applications or appeals on file and had been identified as a public safety enforcement priority based on the severity of his charges.
